Training Pathologists in Africa on Cancer Staging; Nov 16-18, 2018

ASAP in collaboration with the College of Pathologists of East, Central and Southern Africa (COPECSA) and Aga Khan University (AKU) held a successful 2.5 day workshop on cancer staging with over 20 pathologists from across the ECSA region and expert faculty from the United States, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe. 

The workshop series, held November 16-18, 2018; at AKU in Nairobi, Kenya, featured the following cancers:

  • Head & Neck
  • Breast
  • Endometrial & Ovarian
  • Gastric & Esophageal.

The sessions consisted of short, 30 minute lectures covering the most important information for solving the cases, 2-hour sessions for completing cases in small groups, and a 1-hour session where challenging, local cases were reviewed by the expert faculty.
