The Lancet Medical Journal recently published a series of three papers pertaining to pathology and laboratory medicine in low and middle income countries, examining barriers and solutions in resource-poor settings, and outlining eight recommendations for a concerted effort to ensure the provision of effective and sustainable PALM services.
